The road winds through the Highlands, offering a mosaic of rice terraces and fields of varied crops. Frequent stops allow us to meet the inhabitants of the villages along Route Nationale 7. After two days’ sailing along the Tsiribihina River, we reach Belo-sur-Tsiribihina, then continue on to Bekopaka, where we discover the spectacular Tsingy de Bemaraha. We then head for Belo-sur-Tsiribihina in an all-terrain vehicle, passing through unique landscapes all the way to Morondava. The journey continues to Belo sur Mer, a picturesque fishing village in the west, crossing fords and rivers depending on the season.
Our route heads south through the dry forest of the Southwest. We travel by 4×4 to Andavadoaka, stopping at Bevoay to cross the Mangoky River in a rustic motorized ferry. In the late afternoon, we reach Andavadoaka, where you can enjoy the beach, lagoon and coral reef. Andavadoaka is a preserved marine jewel studied by numerous researchers. A coastal track then takes us to Salary, where a magnificent baobab landscape facing a lagoon welcomes us. At the end of the afternoon in Salary, we’ll have the opportunity to explore a Vezo village and experience an authentic immersion experience.
Enjoy a relaxing day by the sea. Lunch is also free, allowing you to choose your own flavors. From July to September, majestic humpback whales frequent these waters, offering a fascinating spectacle. The hotel offers a variety of water-based activities, including traditional pirogue rides, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing and various water sports. If you prefer to stay on land, explore the local Vezo villages. Next, we’ll head for Tuléar along the picturesque track to Ifaty and the charming fishing village of Mangily.
